New York Technical and Policy Support in Utility Regulation 2024

Continuing a long-standing relationship, Synapse provides the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) with technical and policy support in many New York Public Service Commission proceedings. In the 2023-2024 period, we provided testimony, comments, and analysis of utility-proposed investments in rate cases and individual gas utility long-term plans. Synapse also provided analytical support for NRDC's comments on Department of Public Service (DPS) staff proposals regarding changes to existing gas system connection rules. Synapse also provided support for NRDC's jointly filing with Environmental Defense Fund, Sierra Club, Earthjustice, and Alliance for a Green Economy in response to DPS questions regarding non-pipeline alternatives.
