Sophie Schadler joined Synapse in September 2023. She conducts research and analysis on Future of Gas proceedings, transmission planning, and performance incentive mechanisms. Some of her recent work focuses on review of non-pipeline alternatives, leak-prone pipe, and transmission interconnection issues. She has modeling experience in gas rate making, EV load impact analysis, and surplus interconnection for wholesale markets.

Prior to joining Synapse, she studied and worked at Colgate University. There, she conducted research to help the University’s municipal utility plan for future energy demand and achievement of New York State’s carbon goals. Additionally, she worked for the Department of Geography on numerous GIS projects and led classes for the Outdoor Education program. 

Ms. Schadler holds a BA in Environmental Geography from Colgate University.
