Tenzin Gyalmo joined Synapse in 2023 as a Research Associate. She conducts quantitative and qualitative research and analysis within various issues in the electric utilities sector, building decarbonization, distributed generation, energy efficiency, and future of gas. 
At Synapse, she has conducted analyses on power plant economics for integrated resource plans, power cost study filings and rate cases. Tenzin has also contributed to quantitative analysis of utility regulatory models and assessed benefits of distributed generation. She also has experience in energy efficiency benefit-cost modeling and electric system modeling using EnCompass.

Additionally, Tenzin has researched and contributed to reports and white papers on building and industry decarbonization policies, discount rates, benefit-cost analyses, and hosting capacity maps.

Prior to joining Synapse, she completed a climate resiliency capstone project focused on building decarbonization strategies for a local non-profit food hub’s expansion feasibility study. 

Tenzin graduated summa cum laude from Middlebury College with a B.A. in Environmental Science and Architecture.
